History

Serving Chicagoland since 1960

NAIFA, one of the oldest and largest associations in the insurance field, was founded on June 18, 1890 in Boston as the National Association of Life Underwriters. On September 29, 1999, the National Council delegates voted to change the association's name from the National Association of Life Underwriters to National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

NAIFA celebrates 130 years of industry leadership. NAIFA Chicagoland remains the largest local in the State of IL.

Our local chapter was founded on September 26, 1960 as the DuPage Association of Life Underwriters (NALU). When NALU changed their name to NAIFA, we adopted DuPage Area Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

In 2020, we decided to change the name of our local association to NAIFA Chicagoland to more accurately reflect the area that our member agents serve.

NAIFA Chicagoland members provide financial, retirement, and estate planning counseling and ensure that their clients get the best insurance advice to fit their needs.  NAIFA Chicagoland is committed to maintaining a viable local for the members of NAIFA in the State of IL.
